Today is the day to put the small hemp plants into 30 gallon pots where they will stay until harvest. We were looking for a window with no storms in the forecast to give them time to get established in the new soil and toughen up.
Getting the soil right is essential. Small plants have different requirements than bigger plants. They all need the right food, just like we do. We eat organic, so we grow organic, leaving out pesticides, fungicides and other impurities.
Water is just as important as the soil. We have this public spring a few miles away, which is so much better for the plants than city water. We use this for the little guys in the grow room until they are big enough to go outside.
After they are outside, they get good old rain water that we collect in four 250 gallon containers as we show it in the next video.
Rain water - what a treat after a hot day. We strongly believe that the more you care for your plants, the more they will give back. We spend hours in the grow every day to make sure they have what they need to thrive.
Trimming the "buds" from leaves after they got inspected thoroughly by hand from Isabel and making sure there are no impurities that go in our CBD oil.
Nice summer evening in Granville, TN at Lazy Dog Hemp.
Sunset after the rain.
Larry makes his own "compost tea" to nourish the hemp plants with good nutrients to protect from diseases. He converted this drum into a vortex brewer. We collect the rain water from the house and collect it in 275 gallon containers. From there we pump it into the vortex brewer and let it "steep" for a couple of days before Larry feeds the plants with it.
